1 About this app
One Minute Bill ("we", "us", "the app") is a point-of-sale and store-management application for supermarkets and retail shops. It lets shop staff create GST bills, manage products and stock, weigh loose items, run loyalty programmes, and view sales reports. This policy explains what information the app handles and how it is protected. By using the app or website (oneminutebill.com) you agree to this policy.
2 Information we collect
The app handles only the data needed to run a shop:
- Staff account data — name, email address, phone number, a securely hashed password, an optional profile photo, and the role/branch assigned to the staff member. Used to sign in and to control who can do what.
- Customer data entered by the shop — a customer's name and mobile number, and their purchase history, when the shop chooses to attach them to a bill (for the printed/shared bill, loyalty points and GST records). This is the shop's own business data.
- Device & notification data — a push-notification token so the shop owner can be alerted (e.g. new bills, low stock) even when the app is closed, plus basic technical logs needed to keep the service reliable and secure.
- Camera input — used only, on the device, to scan product barcodes, loose-weight labels and bill QR codes. Camera images are not stored or uploaded.
3 How we use the information
The information is used solely to provide the app's features:
- create and share bills, manage inventory, customers, staff and reports;
- operate the loyalty-points programme the shop runs for its customers;
- send the shop's own staff the alerts they switch on (new bills, cancellations, low stock, etc.);
- optionally send a customer their bill link or an offer by WhatsApp/SMS — only when the shop enables messaging and through the shop's own configured provider;
- keep the service secure (sign-in, fraud/abuse prevention, audit history).
4 How data is stored & who can see it
Each shop runs on its own private server instance and database. A shop's data is visible only to that shop's authorised staff, according to the role and branch their manager assigns. We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it with third parties except the infrastructure and optional messaging providers needed to operate the service — for example, the cloud host; Firebase Cloud Messaging to deliver notifications; and Twilio if the shop turns on WhatsApp/SMS.
5 Permissions the app may request
- Camera — to scan barcodes, loose-weight labels and bill QR codes.
- Photos / media — only if a manager chooses to set a staff member's profile photo.
- Notifications — to deliver the alerts the user enables.
- Fingerprint / face unlock — an optional app lock; the biometric check happens on the device and the data never leaves it.
6 Data security
All traffic between the app and the server is encrypted with HTTPS/TLS. Passwords are stored only as salted hashes (never in plain text). Access is protected by role-based permissions, single-device sessions and an optional PIN/biometric app lock, and sensitive actions are recorded in an audit log.
7 Data retention & deletion
Business records such as bills are kept for the shop's accounting and tax obligations. A staff member or customer can ask the shop, or contact us, to access, correct or delete their personal data. To request deletion of your account or personal data, email [email protected] or use our account-deletion page; we action verified requests within 30 days, subject to legal record-keeping requirements.
8 Children
One Minute Bill is a business tool intended for shop owners and staff. It is not directed to children and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
9 Changes to this policy
